Ronaldo Must Return To Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo must return to Manchester United.

When Sir Alex Ferguson signed an 18 year old Cristiano Ronaldo in 2003, it seemed like an average signing. Ronaldo would later develop his skills and go on to become a legend at United. He went from being a flashy showboat into one of the Premier League’s most feared players. He would grow physically, expanding his muscle and athleticism. He could use both feet, he was quick, he could head the ball, he had a thunderous right foot, and he was a game-changer for Manchester. He struck fear into the hearts of opposing full backs. He would eventually torture them with an enhanced goal-scoring ability.

Ronaldo would go on  to join his dream club Real Madrid in 2009 for a world record £80 million. He’s scored more than 200 goals to become Real Madrid’s number 6 all time goal scorer, in just four seasons with the club. Although he’s been breaking records with Madrid, it’s clear that Ronaldo hasn’t been the same since he left Manchester. Has he been a great player? Absolutely. But he seems to be missing the ‘umph’ he had while playing for United.

The biggest reason why Ronaldo must return to Manchester is his trophy cabinet. Well, maybe not his trophy cabinet, but the emptiness inside of it. With Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo has won just 3 trophies: La Liga, Copa Del Rey, and Super Copa De España. While with the Red Devils, Ronaldo managed to win 9 trophies, including individual merits like the Barclays Player Of The Year, PFA Young Player OF The Year, and the Ballon d’Or. Ronaldo has scored ore goals for Real Madrid, but I’m sure that any player would rather win trophies than set individual records if it meant going through a trophy-less season.

Ronaldo calls Sir Alex Ferguson is “father” and although he may not be the manager of Manchester United, Ferguson still has a position at the club. To this day, Manchester United supporters still sing Ronaldo’s name in the stands. He is a legend in Manchester, a respected member of United’s history.

Cristiano Ronaldo needs to return home to Manchester United. Once he does that, we will truly see him at his best. Home is where the heart is, and his heart beats in Manchester.
